India Escape with Varanasi

This 11-day escorted tour of India introduces you the country’s rich history, heritage, and culture. Along the way explore the best of India’s famed “Golden Triangle” in Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur, and the holy Hindu city of Varanasi. If you are looking to escape the crowds and high-season prices this is the vacation for you!

Your India tour begins in the capital city of Delhi. Included sightseeing brings you to stunning sites such as the 11th-century Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb, and Gurudwara Bangla Sahib (Delhi’s most prominent Sikh house of worship). You’ll also explore Old Delhi’s colorful Chandni Chowk bazaar by rickshaw.

No visit to India would be complete without a visit to the world-famous Taj Mahal—a timeless monument of ivory marble—built by some 20,000 laborers, artisans, and craftsmen between 1631 and 1648 AD for Moghul Emperor Shah Jahan as a memorial to his beloved wife.

Continue your tour of India in the “Pink City” of Jaipur with its opulent City Palace museum and gardens, and the Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds). A separate excursion brings you to Amber Fort, the jewel of the city. Here, see intricate mosaics, carvings, paintings, and mirror works of the white marble and red sandstone.

Your escorted India tour also includes an inspirational trip to Varanasi, situated on the banks of the sacred Ganges River. Witness the Ganga Aarti (spiritual worship) on the river’s steps, and travel by boat to see the striking religious ritual of Hindu devotional bathing in the waters of the Ganges. You’ll also visit Sarnath—known as the cradle of Buddhism where Buddha first shared his philosophy and teachings.

The spiritual and cultural traditions waiting to be discovered along this remarkable guided India tour with Varanasi will stir the senses, mind, and spirit throughout this inspiring land.
